A Lakehaven Applications Specialist is responsible for providing end user support while recommending and implementing new technologies of moderate to high difficulty and complexity. This position creates, installs, and maintains computer and web applications, and modifies applications to meet the specific needs of the District or individual users This position provides application-related training, technical support, and troubleshooting assistance.
As a member of the IT Team, it is necessary that the ideal candidate be able to work independently as well as collaborate and work effectively with a team. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.
As a Lakehaven Applications Specialist, you will be part of a team that has been recognized by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies for its environmental stewardship and has been a long-standing member of the American Water Works Association. Lakehaven has a service area population of over 135,000 people living across a 35 square mile area in south King County, makings us one of the largest special-purpose water and sewer districts in the state.
Position placement and pay is dependent upon experience and qualifications.
The successful candidate should have a minimum of the following:
- A High School diploma or equivalent and the level of education and experience described in the job description for the level you select.
- Must have development experience with custom database applications using SQL Server and Visual Studio desktop and/or ASP.NET or similar platforms, and experience with MS Windows/MS Office Suite Products.
- Must have an understanding of software development principles: methodology, UI design and software development life cycles.
- Prior experience with: Enterprise-wide applications, PC Systems and applications, SharePoint, SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, Visual Basic and/or C#.Net, Visual Studio, desktop and web applications.
- Ability to design and maintain custom database applications.
- Ability to function as a database administrator (esp. SQL Server).
Preferred, but not required skills:
- Competency with SharePoint M365 or other content management systems. Knowledge of SharePoint M365 or other content management systems.
- Understanding of Active Directory authentication and permissions.
- An understanding of basic business and accounting procedures.
- Experience with MS Access, SAP Crystal Reports, Cityworks, content management applications, and/or ArcGIS.
