Summary:
We are seeking an ideal candidate with a robust background in healthcare IT, clinical operations, data analytics, and a proven track record of working with AI-driven solutions and Epic electronic health record (EHR) systems. This role demands a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and exceptional collaboration skills with cross-functional teams. The System Analyst bridges the gap between business operations and information systems to implement, maintain, and support UNC Health applications. Provides technical support (development, testing, integration and implementation) of applications and interfaces which deliver IT tools and support business functions across the health system.
Epic Ambulatory Certification is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Apply best practices to manage the information system lifecycle.
- Serve as the primary liaison between clinical practices and support teams at UNC Health.
- Analyze customer requirements; research, design, acquire, and implement innovative solutions.
- Coordinate and operationalize projects ranging from simple to complex with guidance.
- Identify procedural inefficiencies and propose improvements.
- Provide detailed specifications for automated processes.
- Evaluate and revise existing information systems to meet evolving needs.
- Identify workflow adoption gaps across UNCH practice sites.
- Modify, design, and research information systems to enhance efficiency.
- Respond promptly and accurately to end-user requests and resolve issues effectively.
- Assist in prioritizing and documenting enhancement requests to standardize workflows.
- Deliver presentations to project teams, management, and other departments.
- Collaborate with the Quality Improvement (QI) team to design and configure clinical templates/forms for streamlined workflows.

Other Information
Education Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related field (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Epic Ambulatory Certification is preferred.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● If a Bachelor's degree: Two (2) years of IT systems and/or operational experience.
● If an Associate's degree: Four (4) years of IT systems and/or operational experience.
● If a High School diploma or GED: Six (6) years of IT systems and/or operational experience.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
● Excellent analytical and communication skills. Ability to work well in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Highly responsive to internal customers.
