Position: Asset Configuration Management Engineer
Location: Hybrid on-site 3 days a week in Plano, TX (open to Richmond and Mclean VA locations)
Rate: Negotiable based on experience
Duration: 1-2 year contract to hire

We are seeking DevOps Engineers with an Asset and Configuration Lifecycle Management experience who are passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies to join our team. As a DevOps Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation.
About the team:
The Network Asset and Configuration Management Team is focusing on Governance of our AssetManagement Lifecycle processes. We partner with multiple teams to drive initiatives to further develop automation and reduce manual toil. Additionally, we excel in delivering solutions for our customers, providing insight to help them maintain their respective services Asset and Configuration Data as well as providing oversight/consulting to other resources within our organization. This is a group that has Teamwork at its core, helping each other to grow as we expand services we provide. That may involve building out automated reporting to provide them information, working with them to create new or enhanced existing tools, or performing data manipulation or analytics. This is where we start. As we grow, we continue to expand upon our tools and services.
What You'll Do:
  • Designing and building visualizations / automated reporting to modernize our governance framework for Asset Life Cycle Management
  • Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies
  • Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, and mentoring other members of the engineering community
  • Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, Container Orchestration services
  • including Docker and Kubernetes, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services (RDS, Fargate)
  • Investigate and remediate data synchronization anomalies between ServiceNow and Platform Management systems for various Network Technologies (e.g. Firewalls, Routers, Wireless etc)
  • Adhere to Asset and CMDB architectural standards in alignment with the ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM)
  • Provision and deprovision CI's and assets, and regular maintenance work such as CI discovery, identification and control, status accounting and reporting
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders to understand business objectives, data structure, and how CMDB and Asset Management processes will best support the enterprise and process specific objectives
  • Continually improve process execution using automated means wherever possible and clearly document responsibilities and expectations of Service Owners or other stakeholders where manual maintenance is necessary
  • Inform the day-to-day activities of the process, including establishing priorities and work assignments
  • Reviews significant IT infrastructure changes to ensure impacts to configuration management data are properly addressed
  • Collaborate with the ServiceNow platform management team to establish and support integration points for the ServiceNow platform
  • Reviews and publishes configuration management reporting
  • Oversee and support asset and configuration management system testing activities
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 4 years of experience in DevOps Engineering
  • At least 2 years of experience with Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft
  • Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
  • At least 2 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience
  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate Certification
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • ITIL V3/V4 Foundation
  • At least 3 years experience leveraging ITSM best practices with Asset and Configuration Lifecycle Management
Preferred skills:
  • 2+ years of experience working with relational database systems (Snowflake, PostgreSQL,
  • or MySQL)
  • 2+ experience with coding and scripting (e.g., Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Bash, Perl)
  • 2+ years of experience working with Agile Development Practices (Jira)
  • 2+ years of experience performing network automation
  • 5+ years of experience in the Asset and Configuration Lifecycle Management
