GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

You will help shape, expand, sustain, improve, maintain, and protect the museum's facilities, the collection, the public and staff. You will manage a wide range of short and long-term construction and facilities special projects, working in collaboration with stakeholders across the organization. You will oversee maintenance, general upkeep of all Museum properties, and operations of exhibition/gallery renovations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Plan, manage and execute all special projects that addresses the Museum's short and long-term needs, not limited to emergency response, mechanical systems, electrical, plumbing, building envelope and interior renovations

  • Possess excellent knowledge of contracts, immediately get familiar with the Museum provisions, specifications, and standards.

  • Grasp, review and track requests for Information, Change Orders, correspondence, and other related transmittal

  • Manage internal and external business relationships - i.e. develop, maintain, and update project schedules including cost, construction plan, safety procedures and quality work plan

  • Coordinate with other departmental leaders such as - curators, administrators, designers, conservators, and facilities to ensure all stages of a project is properly accomplished

  • Occasionally assist in management of union shops personnel particularly as it relates to Museum maintenance, exhibitions fit out, construction and art installation

  • Assist with enhancements and maintenance of The Museum satellite properties

  • Ensure risks and Issues are tracked, mitigated, and resolved effectively

  • Serve as liaison for capital projects

  • Other related duties as assigned by management

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 - 4 years' experience in Facilities Management, Building Maintenance, Budgeting, Construction Project Management and/or MEP Project Management. Experience working in a museum/art environment a plus

  • Bachelor's degree in related field is preferred (Engineering, Construction Management, MEP Project management, Buildings management, etc.). Equivalent certification/relevant experience in project management will be considered.

  • Ability to read and comprehend construction drawings and specifications for all disciplines of work; delegate related direction to trades for efficiency and quality of work

  • Prepare, provide updates and reports on productivity and project milestones on a cadence to management and senior leadership

  • Experience preparing construction plans, safety procedures, quality work plans, etc.

  • Manage internal and external business relationships, and to proactively cause and manage change as it pertains to special projects.

  • Skilled in financial management of projects, organizational and time management

  • Review cost estimates for changes to contracts for submission and negotiate, present final vendor's agreement to key stakeholders and client for approval

  • Knowledge of construction contracts and bid process

  • General knowledge of building maintenance and MEP operations a plus

COMPENSATION RANGE:

  • Pay Range: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 / Annually

The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, education, special licensing or qualifications, and other factors.
