What's the role
As a Control Systems Instrument Technician, your primary role is trouble shooting and making repairs for the operating facilities. You will be completed in a safe, environmentally sound, and cost-effective manner utilizing the principles of the GAME-ME Process, Management of Change, and the Quality Improvement Process. You will clarify evolving expectations and encourage maximum individual contributions.
You will be expected to know and understand all the fore mentioned processes, and the repair standards for all equipment worked within their craft line. Also, you will be responsible for working with their supervisor to maintain their proficiency within their craft, expected to learn and maintain craft skills associated with their jobs. You should be receptive to coaching and work towards continuous improvement of their skills and knowledge. Lastly, you will be accountable for all of their actions and responsible for meeting the performance standards and requirements set by management.
Accountabilities:
Demonstrate a sound knowledge of all work practices pertaining to the Control Systems craft
Active involvement in the work permitting process and hazard Identification
Demonstrate knowledge and ability to use PPE commonly used by the Control Systems craft
Pertain the hazards in working on or in the vicinity of control valves
Demonstrate knowledge and ability to acquire 3319 and procedure forms to perform an SI
Demonstrate knowledge and ability to use hand tools common to the Control Systems craft
Demonstrate the ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair complex loops
Safely operate forklift, aerial lifts, scissor lifts etc.
Use DPMC standards and guides
Ability to work at heights, i.e. Side of column, roof top,
Basic electronics along with instrumentations standard signals
Knowledge of the different types of flow elements along with how they are measured
Knowledge of the different types of technology used in level measurement along with how to maintain and troubleshoot these different types
Ability for removal, testing, repair and calibration of the different types of control valves
Demonstrate knowledge for removal, testing, repair, configuring Hart and Fieldbus and calibration of the different types of control valves
Demonstrate knowledge for temperature measurements including configuring Hart & Fieldbus device T/C types, and ranges. Also demonstrate knowledge of the use of multiplexers, 'MUX', for temperature measurement with thermocouples where transmitters are not utilized for measurement/indication, installation techniques along with the ability to install
Demonstrate knowledge of both electronic and pneumatic instrumentation in the Petro-chem industry
Read, understand and explain flow diagrams, explain ladder logic
Use test equipment and communication devices used in the calibration and measurement by control systems
Skill of basic analyzer principles. This includes water and hydrocarbon analysis
Ability instrument loop tuning and be able to suggest changes to Control Systems Engineering
Demonstrate knowledge of alarm systems, configurations and repairs, shutdown systems along with the importance of design and testing and how pressure devices are designed and their units of measure
Access work tickets in GSAP. Be able to properly record work History in the proper section and order in house stock materials to make repairs
Ability to utilize all the various smart communicators (Honeywell, HART, Fieldbus) for troubleshooting and/or commissioning new devices
Demonstrate the ability to download DE (STIM) data to Honeywell transmitters.
Describe and identify DeltaV and Honeywell control structure and components. (Hardware in the RIE and control rooms)
Demonstrate knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and repair Honeywell and DeltaV system components and interconnecting cabling
Identify troubleshoot and repair UCN cable issues on the Honeywell systems
Troubleshoot/repair and perform function test audits on IPF systems and interlocks, per S-137
Acquire relevant drawings (P&ID's, Spec sheets, Loop Drawings, etc.)
Identify and describe the various faults on the Triconex systems and assist tech support in making repairs to the Triconex system
Health Safety & Environmental
Maintain 100% compliance on HSO, CBT's and all Active Learner training requirements by the due dates. Initiates scheduling of all mandatory Health & Safety training (i.e. all respiratory, SCBA, & Fire Fighter Equipment)
Responsible for personal safety
Stop unsafe acts before/as they occur, including positive intervention with fellow employees when observing unsafe acts, practices, or situations
Correct unsafe conditions or initiates corrective action when not able to personally resolve
Understand/reviews Complex and Departmental Safety and Environmental Orders as need/required and recommends changes to Supervisor
Complete work tasks in accordance with Department and Complex Orders
Participate in department Health and Safety Improvement Process
Participate in safety meetings. All should be encouraged to volunteer to develop and/or conduct safety meetings
Participate in safety audits as requested
Submit safety suggestions and works toward solution
Participate in incident investigations and takes or recommends corrective action(s) where required
Participate in development of Job/task Safety Analyses
Identify safety hazards and corrects, or develops and submits work request, or recommends correction
Encourage participating in Safety, Environmental and Operability (SEO) reviews as requested
Initiate emergency response procedures as required
Report all work related injuries to their immediate Supervisor and Medical.
Assist in investigating injuries, as appropriate
Always wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
What we need from you
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Must be at least 18 years of age
You must have minimum of 3 years' experience
Knowledge and ability to commission take out service and download to DCS and Delta-V

The rate for this position is $52.26 Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, and internal equity.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance.
