Internship Summary: We are actively hiring for a Data Science Intern! This summer, we are looking for motivated individuals looking to begin a career in the Emerging Tech Labs team of the Innovation & Corporate Development(ICD) team. As an intern you will work closely with a strong team of engineers, and data scientists who experiment with new technologies against high impact use cases, conduct proofs of concept (POCs) to test what is possible and build prototypes to bring innovations to life. Working in collaboration with other teams, the Emerging Tech Labs team will assist in launching commercial pilots and data-forward projects and ultimately play a critical role in support of the company's goals for diversification and growth. As an intern you will get to explore disruptive technologies such as Generative AI, LLMs, Digital Twin, Blockchain in addition to data science.
CSAA Internship Program: As an intern, you will participate in an 11-week summer internship experience with an emphasis on hands-on learning and real-world immersion into our business. Our interns participate in professional development and job-specific training and plenty of networking opportunities to gain deep understanding of their role and department while also broadening their knowledge of CSAA's business. We offer an Intern Hackathon, executive meet and greets, community service opportunities, and social bonding activities to help you stay connected.
Internship Details: The anticipated dates of our 2025 summer internship will be May 19-August 1. This role can be remote, or hybrid based out of our Glendale, AZ office. The anticipated hourly rate for this role is $33.00.

Essential Responsibilities

• Collaborate with our Emerging Tech Labs team and business leads to pursue research in areas of high business impact.

• Drive CSAA's knowledge of our customers through research projects from data collection to model development.

• Provide recommendation based on well-documented, reproducible analysis from large datasets.

• Work on a capstone project throughout the summer related to data analysis within the insurance industry and present findings to senior management

Ideal Qualifications

• Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a quantitative or analytically focused degree.

• Rising juniors and seniors ideally graduating December 2025 or later.

• Interested to begin a career with a focus on data or statistical analysis.

• Creative problem solver with a strong interest in machine learning.

• Experience using GenAI/LLM technologies and having at least high-level understanding of how they work.

• Familiar with manipulating raw data with Python.

• High-energy, high-impact individual who can provide statistical insights with data.

• Self-motivated and results-oriented professional with strong written or verbal communication skills.

• Able to influence and effectively manage multiple projects while communicating effectively in front of others.

• Enthusiastic to learn new concepts and committed to self-development.

• Has a keen analytical mind with a sharp eye for details.

• Must have authorization to work indefinitely in the US.
