DevOps Engineering Manager – (Malvern, PA OR San Diego, CA)

Lead a high-performing, multicultural team focused on ensuring the reliability and scalability of our infrastructure and services. Drive the technical strategy for monitoring, provisioning, networking, and development tooling in collaboration with engineering and leadership teams. Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Your role:

  • Lead a cooperative team of application support, systems operations, and engineering staff to enhance the reliability and performance of our products and services.

  • Develop and execute the technical strategy for infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, networking, and development tooling in collaboration with engineering teams and leadership.

  • Foster a culture of cooperation, innovation, and continuous development to support team growth and operational excellence.

  • Manage resources and complex projects with multiple dependencies, ensuring timely delivery and operational stability.

  • Serve as a key communicator and problem-solver, driving technical advancements while balancing feature development speed and reliability.

You're the right fit if:

  • You have 7+ years of experience in site reliability engineering or DevOps, including at least 5+ years in a leadership role running large project and managing technical teams.

  • Your skills include cloud-native computing (AWS, EC2, Kubernetes, object-based storage, CI/CD pipelines), scripting and infrastructure-as-code, and performance tuning.

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field.

  • You can successfully perform the minimum physical, cognitive, and environmental job requirements with or without accommodation.

  • You are a strong communicator and problem solver, with experience in Agile methodologies such as SAFe, Kanban, and Scrum. AWS certifications are a plus.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in (Malvern, PA) is: $113,190 to $194,040

The pay range for this position in (San Diego, CA) is: $145,040 to $248,640

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.

Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position. For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Malvern, PA OR San Diego, CA.
