Full Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Dir PMO - Enterprise is responsible for planning, controlling, and coordinating programs and projects for Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH), including scoping, business analysis, resource allocation, and project planning. Plans, develops, and monitors multiple programs and projects. Negotiates and coordinates project timelines, milestones, tasks, and deliverables. Directs and coordinates staff and resources required to successfully complete projects. Leads change and improvement projects and initiatives, ensuring success of large-scale projects through effective planning, implementation, engagement, and measurement. Directs and manages the project and program portfolio and ensures that the appropriate resources and processes are in place and project scope, timeframe, and budget requirements are met. Serves as a central resource to coordinate and track past, current, and future programs and project tasks. Collaborates with senior leadership and departments to drive project delivery and ensure alignment to BSWH business objectives.
A system Director translates and implements strategic plans and objectives for area of responsibility. Makes final decisions on operational matters and ensures achievement of objectives. Recommends policies and organizational changes for area. Plans and executes projects and initiatives that meet annual objectives. Erroneous decisions at this level tend to have a negative impact on the success of the area, business unit, and possibly the overall organization's operations. Plans and directs the operations of a department or area, with responsibility for staffing, processes, budgets, and costs of the unit. Leads and advises subordinate(s) to meet schedules, resolve technical problems, and monitor performance. Has a larger, more complex organization or functional area than a manager. Often has one or more managers or supervisors reporting to the role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
1. Directs enterprise projects and assigned strategic initiatives for BSWH.
2. Recommends and implements strategic and operational plans and priorities for enterprise projects and programs aligned to BSWH overall business objectives.
3. Directs the enterprise programs and projects, including project development, business case, objectives, scoping, planning, budget and staff resources, milestones, timing, implementation, and measurement of projects.
4. Collaborates with senior leadership team and other stakeholders to prioritize projects and then evaluate, implement, and communicate initiatives.
5. Leads cross-functional teams to facilitate open dialogue and develop action plans for implementation of new business platforms and operating models.
6. Formalizes program and project vision and creates comprehensive plans, builds teams, manages simultaneous tasks, monitors progress, communicates with stakeholders, provides updates to leadership, and assigns resources for execution of strategic projects.
7. Partners with key stakeholders to advance organizational and project goals and respond to team member and project needs.
8. Investigates and resolves complex problems and coordinates efforts to provide innovative strategies and solutions.
9. Identifies, engages, and manages vendor partners engaged to support assigned programs and projects, including procurement, contract, and compliance processes.
10. Monitors and analyzes healthcare and project management industry trends, recommending best practices and project management standards, tools, and processes.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, finance, healthcare, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. 7+ years of experience in project management or developing a PMO office.
3. 1+ years of experience in a leadership role preferred.
4. Experience leading and delivering program and project work that impacts organizational priorities.
5. Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and workstreams, assigning work to cross-functional team members.
6. Experience with scorecard development and alignment of metrics to strategic objectives.
7. Certification in project management preferred, such as Certified Project Manager (CPM) or Project Manager Professional (PMP).
8. Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
9. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with a confident style.
10. Active listening, collaborating, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
