Overview of the Role
We're seeking an Employee Communications Manager to support internal communications initiatives focused on People Experience programs for an enterprise client. This role serves as a strategic communications partner, helping bring employee-focused programs, initiatives, and company culture to life through clear, engaging, and impactful messaging.
The Employee Communications Manager will collaborate closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to translate business priorities into comprehensive communication strategies that inform, engage, and inspire employees. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and relationship builder who thrives in dynamic environments and can balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
The Basics
- Duration: 6 months
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Location: Hybrid based in Foster City, CA
Top 3 Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in employee communications, internal communications, or People Experience communications
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with senior leaders and navigate complex stakeholder environments
Other Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required
- Experience supporting HR, People Experience, or employee lifecycle communications
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to develop end-to-end communications plans
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities
- Experience managing multiple projects and competing deadlines
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with communication and collaboration tools such as Slack, Google Workspace, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with visual or content creation tools such as Canva is a plus
- Interest in leveraging AI tools to improve communications workflows and efficiency
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute communication strategies for People Experience programs across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, compensation, performance, and engagement initiatives
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across HR, Talent, Compensation, and Operations to create integrated communication plans
- Translate complex programs and initiatives into clear, engaging messaging tailored to different employee audiences
- Build and manage end-to-end communication plans aligned with organizational priorities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing guidance on messaging, timing, and communication approach
- Identify opportunities to improve communication processes, engagement strategies, and overall effectiveness
- Balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, delivering high-quality communications across multiple formats
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring deadlines are met and stakeholders are informed
- Leverage data, feedback, and insights to refine messaging and improve communication outcomes
- Explore and apply emerging tools, including AI-enabled platforms, to enhance communication workflows and impact
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
