Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking an Engineer Systems as part of the IRBM/ICBM Targets Systems Engineering Integration & Test team within the Launch Vehicle business unit in our Chandler, AZ office.
The Engineer Systems will support the IRBM/ICBM Targets Program requiring the incumbent to function in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment.
The Engineer Systems will:

• Utilize strong technical problem solving, written, and verbal communication skills to generate and document system level launch vehicle requirements

• Perform vehicle performance assessments, and participate in system level verification/data review activities

• Regularly interface with program management, engineering staff, and external customers

• Occasionally work during odd hours (nights/weekends), and occasionally longer than normal (>40 hrs/wk) to meet deadlines

• Exercise strong resolve to drive tasks to completion autonomously

• Implement and manage system requirements in the Requirements Management databases (DOORS)

• Provide data for and assists in risk management (identifies potential risks), and trade study processes

• Support system design, data analyses, interface verification, testing, and failure/anomaly resolution

• Support the testing, and/or evaluation/validation of one or more components of a system or subsystem analytical model or actual system implementation

• Prepare, and present materials at program major milestone meetings

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of experience.

• U.S. Citizenship, and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance, or higher

• Ability to travel is required (<10%)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance, or higher

• A strong experienced-based and academic foundation in Systems Engineering fundamentals

• Experience with Northrop Grumman Space Systems LVBU Systems Engineering standards/guidelines and expectations

• Experience with external customer interfacing (meetings, presentation, negotiation)

• System testing and launch operations experience

• Experience with Agile, Jira, and Scrum

Salary Range: $77,200 - $115,800
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
