About the Location
Hybrid Position:
This position may be considered Hybrid based on PetSmart’s FlexSmart policy and business needs. A Hybrid work arrangement is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity. Associates with a Hybrid work arrangement have a work space at Phoenix Home Office and can be required to come onsite between 1-5 days a week as determined by leadership and based on business needs.

Manager of IT – Merchandising Applications

PetSmart is looking for a Manager of IT - Merchandising Applications who will take an active role in the development and implementation of solutions that support business strategies. This person will be accountable for working with cross-functional teams to implement and deliver solutions aligned with strategies and plans for technology, people and process for in-store, corporate and direct-to-consumer environments. This person is also accountable for ensuring organized, predictable, and managed change.
Responsibilities
- Direct supervision responsibility for an existing team of retail technical analysts
- Resource planning and allocation
- Responsible for quality and continuity of the analyst team work product
- Project and/or application technical delivery
- Career development planning
- Production support escalation
- Relationship management – technology, business, and vendor partners
Experience
- Minimum 3 years as an analyst or an engineer within an enterprise-scale Retail environment
- Minimum 3 years in a lead role for the implementation of a retail merchandising-specific project, or in a lead role for an analyst or engineering team
- Minimum 3 years of direct supervisory experience
- Bachelor's Degree, preference given for Computer/Management Information Systems or Computer Science
Skills
- Software Development Lifecycle methodology
- Business and system process flow construction
- Working knowledge of high-level system designs and architecture
- Working knowledge and experience with project methodologies like Agile
- Working knowledge and experience with ITIL
- Work management tools - Jira
- Documentation tools - Confluence
- Incident and problem management platform - ServiceNow
- Change Management
- Understanding of modern software development, QA, and automation best practices
- Professional-level written, verbal, and presentation communications
Preference Given
- Experience with Retail Master Data, Item and Category Management, and Space Planning
- Financial management, working knowledge of capital and expense budgets
