This is a hybrid position with in-office flexibility 2-3 days a week.

Summary:

The Medicare Sales Representative will work with prospective clients to identify their unique situation and needs and provide education and assistance with choosing insurance plans that best suits them. You will help Medicare beneficiaries navigate one of the most important purchasing decisions of their life as they select their insurance coverage. As a Medicare Sales Representative you will listen, consult, and advise clients over the phone on their coverage options. We partner with top national, regional and Massachusetts health insurance companies, to ensure access to a wide portfolio of plans that meet a variety of health and budget needs. We offer competitive pay, including a base salary and commissions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer inbound calls from prospective members, identify the type of assistance and information the customer needs with the goal of converting to a qualified lead and sale.
  • Follow up on leads that come in through various channels by conducting outbound calls with the goal of converting to a qualified lead and sale.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the product portfolio. Explain products and benefits and assist with finding the product that best fits the customer’s needs.
  • Utilize Medicare systems to generate quotes, compare plans and complete enrollment application over the phone on behalf of the customer.
  • Manage existing client book of business during annual enrollment period.
  • Meet sales and productivity goals.
  • Provide a positive customer experience.
  • Continuously update customer files in CRM; maintain proper file documentation.
  • Fully understand, abide by, and stay current with all Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) rules and regulations as they pertain to duties assigned.
  • Adhere to all compliance, internal procedures and practices while demonstrating the ability to meet performance and quality standards when creating files, entering information, creating leads, applications, and policies in our CRM.
  • Work with internal team members as required in support of team goals.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

  • Related training or academic coursework, or a demonstrated ability to perform the duties of the position may be considered in lieu of previous experience.
  • Must be self-directed, motivated, and attuned to the needs of the Medicare eligible populations.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Active Massachusetts Health Insurance License (will help get licensed if you do not currently hold one).
  • Current AHIP Certification (will help get certified if you do not currently hold one), must pass all CMS required Medicare, Fraud, Waste & Abuse training and testing, and become certified to sell multiple health plans’ senior products.
  • Must be released or able to obtain release from current upline for Medicare carriers (brokerage appointed under) and employer.

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Two (2) years of sales and/or account management experience.
  • One (1) year of previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in or knowledge of the Medicare or Senior market highly preferred.
