The Operational Resilience (OR) ERM Risk Officer I is a subject matter expert responsible for the development, implementation, socialization, and execution of response / incident management processes in support of policy, standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Role supports build out, maintaining, and continuous improvement of a 24x7 enterprise response management function which provides monitoring, tools, and response execution capabilities, in order to ensure Truist can recover safely, quickly, and effectively from any crisis. Activities aligned with this role have strategic and/or broad implications to the Company, which includes facilitating complex cross-functional initiatives that enable the proactive management of risks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

1. Perform 24x7 monitoring for Truist of potentially disruptive incidents, e.g. weather / natural disasters, geopolitical events, building / infrastructure issues, supply chain disruptions, etc.; includes responsibility to take on-call shifts as part of broader team with 24x7 responsibilities.

2. Coordinate the response to actual disruptions, inclusive of activating and communicating with relevant crisis management teams across the company.

3. Assist in managing response tools for Truist, e.g. Everbridge, Early Alert

4. Develop and facilitates enterprise-wide and executive leadership exercises, including creating scenario development, Master Event List, Situation Manual, and Facilitator Playbook.

5. Coordinate After Action Reporting and generate lessons learned from incidents and exercises to drive continuous improvement.

6. Provide recommendations for improving efficiencies and effectiveness to meet department and company business needs.

7. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key business partners.

8. Stay abreast of emerging issues related to Crisis Management including third party, business continuity, disaster recovery and other relevant disciplines and incorporate new learning into work processes.

9. Use metrics, reporting and data analytics to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.

10. Interact with business unit leadership and functional partners on a daily basis. Works independently with minimal guidance.

11. Assist OR leadership team with preparing for and responding to internal audit requests and/or external regulatory examinations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

2. 10 years of banking or related management experience.

3. Possess and demonstrate BC/DR knowledge, aptitude, and leadership.

4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating the ability to interact with and influence management and business partners effectively.

5. Strong organizational, project management, and decision-making skills.

6. Knowledge of the industry's competitive landscape and an understanding of the market and regulatory factors that shape the industry.

7. Adept with Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master of Business Administration, Risk Management, or relevant Master's degree

2. Professional accreditation in BC/DR industry, such as DRI International or Business Continuity Institute

3. Graduate of Leadership Development Program, Banking School, or equivalent industry training program

4. Experience working for or with (significant interactions) regulatory agencies (FRB, OCC, FDIC)

5. Experience with Corporate Operational Resilience / Crisis Management risk programs or initiatives

6. Familiarity with National Incident Management System/Incident Command System (NIMS/ICS)
