BJC HealthCare's Paint Management Center is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join our team! Previous experience in a healthcare administrative setting and EPIC experience is highly preferred.
Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
Location: at 1044 N Mason Rd.
Overview
Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. With 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. The campus features a park-like setting with landscaping and a walking path that winds through the grounds and connects to Millennium Park.
The Pain Management Center at Barnes Jewish West County provides patients experiencing chronic pain with the best experience possible in all aspects of care including office visits, procedures and pharmaceutical management. When visiting the pain management center, patients are seen by RN's specializing in pain management for all of their educational needs, additional support is available between appointments by telephone triage RN's. Use of an electronic medical record allows staff to have a comprehensive understanding of each patient, patients to have access to their medical records from home, and prescriptions and other communication to be sent instantaneously to other members of the healthcare team.

Role Purpose
The Patient Access Representative is often the first point of contact for our patients and therefore must represent BJC with the highest standard of customer service, compassion and perform all duties in a manner consistent with our mission, vision, values, and BJC service standards. The Patient Access Representative will facilitate all components of the patients' entrance into any BJC facility. This position will require a high level of emotional intelligence and making a personal connection. The patient experiences vary broadly based on their medical needs and acuity. This position highly impacts the ability to maximize the level of reimbursements and prevention of denials by accurate collection of demographics and insurance information, benefit verification and point of service collection. Selecting the correct patient from the master person index (MPI) is critical to patient safety. This team member must possess a friendly demeanor, exceptional attention to detail and maintain knowledge and competence with insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines as well as federal, state, and accreditation agencies.
