The Tulsa World, a Lee Enterprises company, is seeking a nightshift Press Operator. The Press Operator sets up the press to produce products based on individual specifications for that shift's product; operates and maintains the press components and controls; quickly grasps a thorough understanding of every component in the press and demonstrates a strong ability to troubleshoot problems; handles the pressure of a deadline-driven environment well; maintains a strong commitment to quality and process improvement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Read and interpret layouts
2. Set black and color inks to assigned density standards
3. Monitor quality and make adjustments to maintain the highest possible quality
4. Maintain and adjust margins, cut-off alignment, registration of four color pages and check pages against the quality proofs to maintain the highest quality possible
5. Inspect rolls of newsprint rolls for damage, load rolls into the press for production and adjust arms and controls setting in accordance with the layout and production demands
6. Place and install plates on the press with accordance of the press layout.
7. Keep the press and the pressroom clean
8. On-site, regular and reliable attendance is required.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

1. Ability to follow all Company policies and procedures including but not limited to attendance standards
2. Ability to communicate effectively with other workers and supervisor
3. Ability to work with other workers, supervisor and other departments
