Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Engineer Software- Software Integration and Test to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Software organization onsite in Rancho Bernardo, El Segundo or Palmdale, California, where we define possible.
Join our team to work in an embedded technology environment to develop software working with real time operating systems for use in flight and mission critical systems. We build complex aircraft systems using the latest technologies including simulation, cloud computing, DevSecOps, and cyber that can rapidly evolve to deliver enhanced capabilities for fielded systems, modernizing in partnership with our customers to meet their most complex missions. Accomplish Candidates will work on software supporting various space, aircraft, and ground systems in all phases of the software development lifecycle including design, development, and test.
Essential Functions:
• Knowledge of, and experience working in, all phases for the Software Development Lifecycle
• Analyze requirements allocated to computer software configuration items (CSCI).
• Design, development, maintenance, and execution of automated software tests for qualification of embedded software products
• Experienced in working in a lab environment on an Agile project

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
• 5 years of related experience with a with BS OR 3 years of experience with Masters
• Demonstrated Professional Experience with Agile Framework within the last 3 years.
• Demonstrated Professional Experience Implementing software and scripts in one or more Object Oriented Programming languages: C/C++, C#, OR Java, AND Python within the last 3 years.
• Demonstrated Professional Experience with Software Change Control, Change Management, and CI/CD tools such as: Atlassian tool suite, GitHub, GitLab, AND/OR Jenkins within the last 3 years.
• Demonstrated Professional Experience with Testing Methodologies, Frameworks, and Automated Testing using: GoogleTest, TestComplete, Cucumber, Atlas, Eggplant Automation, Unit Test Factory, ATF (Automated Test Framework), Robot within the last 3 years.
• Demonstrated Professional Experience Architecting, Designing, Modeling (Rhapsody or Cameo), Implementing, Maintaining, Integrating, Debugging, Verifying and Qualifying Safety-Critical Embedded Real Time Software OR Command & Control Software written in OO C++ running on Real-Time Operating Systems such as: VxWorks, Integrity, AND/OR Real Time Embedded Linux within the last 3 years.
• Active DoD Top Secret (in-scope), with the ability to obtain (and maintain) special program access (PAR) prior to commencement of employment.

• Differentiating characteristics include demonstrated leadership, teamwork capabilities, strong time management, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Recent Demonstrated Professional Experience with DOORs AND/OR Software Requirement Specification Testing using Simulators, automated scripting languages such as Python, MATLAB, JavaScript, AND/OR Bash.
• Availability to support occasional travel.

Salary Range: $110,300 - $165,500
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
