Position Summary:

As a Project Architect at DLR Group you will be responsible for managing all aspects of project document development and coordinating with all project team members to maintain the quality of the work product within the established project schedule for Higher Education projects. As part of our integrated design teams, you create buildings that elevate the human experience through design.

You will be responsible for producing profitable and executable designs, with assistance from the Project Manager and Regional Sector Leader. As an integrated design team member, you will assist with all aspects of the project design and document development and coordinating with all project team members to produce quality design work product while adhering to project schedules and budgets.

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead conceptual design and technical viewpoints on projects, providing input on work plans developed by the Project Manager.
  • Coordinate all disciplines and agencies related to building design, monitoring construction documents.
  • Present technical and design solutions to clients and stakeholders while serving as a subject matter expert on specialized systems.
  • Supervise teamwork and technical delivery alongside the Project Manager, maintaining a high level of design process knowledge and attention to detail.
  • Mentor teams to ensure quality deliverables and drive innovative design excellence within the integrated team.
  • Execute QA/QC processes to ensure design intent and thought leadership are implemented throughout all project phases.
  • Communicate design intent promptly with the PM and integrated design team, and participate in design community events.
  • Lead presentations and manage client expectations to foster relationships while meeting project schedules, delivery goals, and profitability targets.
  • Prioritize design elements to align with project budgets.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Design
  • 8+ years of Architecture experience primarily designing Higher Education buildings
  • Professional License.
  • Proficient in REVIT and 3D modeling/rendering software
  • Strong knowledge of CA building codes and zoning regulations.
  • The ability to travel to support national and/or regional project tasks.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of SketchUp, Enscape, Lumion, and/or V-Ray.
  • Experience and interest in sustainable building design.

The potential pay range for this role is $90,000-$140,000 annually.
