The Chicago office of McGuireWoods seeks an Associate to join its Restructuring & Insolvency team.

McGuireWoods’ Restructuring and Insolvency team includes lawyers with transactional and litigation strength to assist clients in any and all distressed situations.  Our clients span the spectrum of parties to distress process, include secured creditors, contract counterparties, agents, private equity investors, post-confirmation trustees and receivers in all types of debt restructurings, including out-of-court workouts, litigation and bankruptcy proceedings.

Salary:  $215,000 - $250,000

• Qualified candidates will have 1-3 years’ experience in corporate bankruptcies, financial restructurings, loan workouts, corporate reorganizations, distressed M&A, or complex insolvency-related litigation.
• Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with client, business, and legal teams.
• Must have a strong academic record, excellent writing, and oral communication skills.
• Federal circuit court, district court, or bankruptcy clerkship experience will be considered.
• Excellent academics and writing skills required.
• Illinois State Bar is required.
