As the first point of contact for those who enter the facility you will play a key role in maintaining order, enforcing security protocols and creating a controlled environment.
General Description of Typical Tasks: The Lobby Officer is responsible for maintaining the safety, security and orderly operation of the Correctional Center's Lobby and Visitation areas. This position regulates access. monitors visitor behavior and ensures compliance with visitation protocols.
Duties include: Direct inmate records inquiries appropriately and assist with public information requests. Operate and monitor security screening equipment including metal detectors and x-ray machines. Check in all visitors and ensure they are properly authorized. Control the entrance and exit of all civilian and staff access to visitation areas. Maintain cleanliness and order in the lobby area. Essential functions include use radio,, intercom, telephone to communicate. Complete logs, reports as required. Remain familiar with emergency procedures..
