Role overview
CarGurus is looking for a seasoned Senior Software Engineer, specializing in JavaScript, to join our skunkworks team focusing on generative AI. The team is exploring the use of generative AI at CarGurus. We are seeking an experienced, engaged, and experimental engineer who can use generative AI to transform the car shopping experience for our users. Additionally, we collaborate with the rest of the Engineering organization to support the use of generative AI. We are constantly coming up with new ideas, experimenting, and evolving our roadmap as technology rapidly evolves.
What you'll do
- Very closely collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to focus on and solve customer problems
- Work in fast-paced and experimental environment where you'll be frequently evaluating and comparing different solutions
- Collaborate with your colleagues on architecture designs
What you'll bring
- Demonstrated experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript and React
- Experience with Node.js and frameworks such as Remix, Next.js, and Express, or with OpenAI or other large language models are a plus
- Proficient at developing well-structured web applications
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
- Deep understanding of design patterns
- Self-led, capable of working with little direction
- Skilled communicator with a collaborative spirit
