We are seeking a Senior Program Manager, Disaster Health Services. 100% Remote *Must have a Masters Degree*
Job Summary:
The American Red Cross Disaster Health Services (DHS) Program is vital to addressing the acute and potential long-term health impacts of individuals, families, and communities in the aftermath of disaster. The program is primarily a nurse-led, public health model that embraces its multidisciplinary health professional workforce. DHS volunteers offer a variety of services which range from providing clinical health assessments to identify acute and chronic conditions; assisting disaster survivors with the replacement of medications, durable medical equipment or other health-related items; providing health education to promote individual wellness; and coordinating emergent or community-based referrals to high levels of care, when necessary. The Senior Program Manager, Disaster Health Services serves as the leader and senior manager of the national DHS program and is responsible for informing the development, dissemination, and oversight of all DHS program policies, procedures, and training; identifying opportunities for program process improvement; and providing support and guidance to DHS volunteers and staff in divisions and regions on a day-to-day basis and during disaster relief operations. The DHS Senior Program Manager also support the other Disaster Cycle Services branches with subject matter expertise, as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manages all aspects of the Disaster Health Services program, including informing the development, dissemination, and oversight of policies, tools, training, and metrics to ensure program efficacy and efficiency.
- Serves as a Disaster Health subject matter expert and provides clinical supervision to volunteers when warranted.
- Collaborates with staff across Disaster Cycle Services to ensure that Disaster Health Services program components are supportive of and integrated with other programs to provide holistic guidance and support to the field on client-facing activities (e.g. sheltering, disaster mental health, family reunification, casework and recovery planning, disability integration, and disaster spiritual care).
- Collaborates with the Chief Nurse and the Office of Nursing and Health to ensure excellent delivery of client care and ensure national nursing standards and regulations are met in the Disaster Health Services program.
- Recruits, trains, and engages Disaster Health volunteer leaders to advise disaster relief operations, divisions, and regions.
- Develops and maintains national partner and stakeholder relationships to strengthen and support the execution of Disaster Health Service activities in the field.
- Develops and manages a volunteer leadership team to provide remote support and guidance to Disaster Health Services leaders as needed on disaster relief operations.
- Represents Disaster Health Services on internal and external committees.
The salary range for this position is $97,152.00 - $114,816.00
This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in an academic health field and a master's degree from an accredited program is required. Must hold a current, unencumbered license from a U.S. state or territory in a health profession, such as a registered nurse or physician.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of program administration experience. Preferred candidates will have documented experience in leadership/management, public health, and providing health services in post-disaster environments.
Skills & Abilities: Must be able to work in a team environment and be able to operate independently, with initiative, and lead an assigned area of responsibility with minimal supervision. Strong public speaking skills, the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work with multiple priorities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs are required. Travel may be required for meetings, conferences, or other job-related duties.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience engaging and leading volunteers. Experience with disaster preparedness, response, and recovery, particularly disaster health services across this continuum. Experience in occupational health and workforce wellness.
