Location: This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday assigned to the SERVICE CENTER located in CITY, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).
General Summary of Job Responsibilities
The Senior Platform Engineer plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our data platform using Databricks and other technologies within Microsoft Azure cloud. The incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of our analytics and data solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide input into the strategic technology direction for our data platform & stay informed of the latest Databricks and platform engineering innovations

Design, implement, manage, and optimize data pipelines to ensure seamless data integration across various systems

Utilize scripting to automate and remove manual steps and improve user satisfaction
-
Work with server, network and IS groups to resolve technical problems
-
Assist end-users and other IT groups with third-level technical support.

Evaluate, Design, Plan and configure infrastructure, applications, monitor and management tools to best meet the company needs, and information security guidelines

Monitor vulnerabilities, plan and implement all remediation steps to meet Information security requirements

Other duties as assigned or may be necessary
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
-
Experience in Databricks platform management including Unity Catalog, compute clusters and workflows
-
Experience developing and maintaining Azure Data Factory Pipelines and Data Flows
-
Proficient understanding of computer networking principles and Azure networking services, including Virtual Network (Vnet), VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, and Private Endpoints

Experience using query languages such as SQL and KQL as well as scripting languages like Python and PowerShell to extract data from source systems

Working knowledge of Git and CI/CD pipelines, along with a solid understanding of DevOps principles and practices.

Demonstratable knowledge of leveraging REST APIs to collect data

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Expert Knowledge

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications to perform End Point management services Expert Knowledge

Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines Broad Knowledge

Technical skills to design, plan and implement highly technical infrastructure and applications (virtual and physical) solutions Expert Knowledge
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related with4 years in Experience in an advanced platform engineer role OR
- Associate'sDegree in Computer Science or related with 6years in Experience in an advanced platform engineer role OR
- High School Diploma or GEDwith 8years in Experience in an advanced platform engineer role.
