Job Description:
Job Title: Data Governance ConsultantOverview:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Governance Consultant to provide leadership and direction for all aspects of Data Governance, including Metadata Management, Business Glossary, and Data Quality. This role requires a strong communicator who can collaborate effectively with clients, Collibra SMEs, and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Direction:Guide and oversee all Data Governance activities, ensuring effective management of Metadata, Business Glossary, and Data Quality.
- Collaboration:Work closely with clients and Collibra SMEs to implement the Data Governance Operating Model and recommend necessary changes to the Collibra Platform to maximize benefits.
- Communication:Regularly interact with executive clients and AFS leadership, requiring strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Teamwork:Operate effectively within a cross-functional team and agile program to manage the backlog of priorities for both clients and the team.
- Expansion & Cataloging:As the program grows, identify and catalog metadata from additional Business Units. Utilize established governance models and templates to facilitate metadata discovery and curation.
- Structure & Organization:Understand processes and templates, review the existing Collibra organization structure, and effectively structure metadata into appropriate communities/domains.
- Proficiency in Collibra metadata ingestion using Import/Export functionality with Excel.
- Strong understanding of the Collibra environment, including Communities/Domains/Asset Types, Business Glossary, Data Dictionary, and Helpdesk.
- Issue Management:Anticipate and manage an increase in Issue Management activities as the catalog and user engagement grow. Adapt processes to meet USPTO-specific needs.
- User Interaction:Ensure features like Ask the Expert, Comments, and Ratings are functional and tailored to the roles identified in USPTO's operating model.
- Workflow Management:Maintain automated Collibra workflows to ensure issues are assigned to the appropriate roles.
- Understanding of Data Helpdesk Module, Issue Types, Collibra Workflows, and Roles and Responsibilities.
- Collaboration:Work with the Collibra SME to identify opportunities for enhancing the catalog's performance.
- Monitoring & Automation:Monitor user-reported issues and leverage Collibra functionalities to address them. Assist in implementing automation functionalities like the Lineage Harvester and refining workflows to automate issue routing.
- Understanding of Collibra 3rd party integration options.
